A moment of silence

…………………………….

Thank you. My blog died yesterday. Well, I killed it. It wasn’t intentional, but it still happened. See, I have a reseller account and I was trying to delete one of the accounts; I deleted this one too :(. It has been a very sad 17 hours.

I had my files backed up luckily and there used to be a backup of my database, before i overwrote it last night (yes, I’m on a roll). So, thanks to lb and Google Cache i can get to all of my data, it is just going to be a PITA to restore.

Now, onto the process.

I’m more then happy to lend a hand if you need it. Your blog is one of the best I’ve seen and I know once you restore what you have salvaged it will continue to be one of the best blogs around.

And if there is anything I can do to help you, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Sorry to hear that. :( Glad that you are able to get a lot of it back, though.

I suggest that now you install Skippy’s WP-DB-Backup & WP-Cron(though like Skippy I’d recommend running a Unix/Linux cron to backup & email) plugins & have a DB backup emailed to you every night. That way if this happens again, you woould loose out only on stuff that was posted after last (night)backup.

[…] To date, I have 105 posts with 705 comments. This is minus the 150 comments from a Microsoft post that I lost when I erased my DB… sigh. Something I learned to like was when people commented on my blog. I had never really thought much of it, but when someone comments, it typically means they find the topic more interesting. I have numerous posts without a comment and I’ve learned that most people don’t really give a crap about the topic at hand. I try to file that knowledge for later use. […]
