I have a username that I typically use on most forums. I google’d it tonight and came up with 52,400 results. I’m 99% positive they all belong to me. MSN has only 2960 and yahoo has 4790. How about you, have you ever searched your username or your real name?

I google my real name every once in a while. I’m proud to say that I personally take up the first 2-3 pages with just stuff about me. Never googled my username before. Thanks for the interesting idea.

Hmm, not so great for Weon on Google. I’m top but there is lots of imposters there too!
I see you went for the ads in the end - how’s it working out for you?
June 6th, 2006 at 2:17 amI used to be the most famous Olly on google. Apparently that’s not the case anymore.
June 6th, 2006 at 3:19 pmNumber 1 in Google for Mike Empuria - with the description “Thank you. Mike Empuria is offline.” I still wear the T-Shirt ‘though.
June 7th, 2006 at 4:20 pmI’ve lost my ownership of “Dan Grossman” online. I used to rule that name. In the late 90s, a Google or AltaVista search would pull up 20 pages of results all having to do with me before anything else. Articles I had written that were syndicated all over the place, forum posts, etc.
Now I’ve lost most of that. I stopped writing regular articles years ago, and a senator by the same name appeared whose name appears online often. When I stopped using my personal domain for blogging in 2004, I also lost its first page listing for my name.
