In need of Fashion Advice

Archived in the category: Useless Info

I have some pressure put on me to find a dress for a semi-formal event at the end of the month. I have it narrowed down to two different dresses but I am in an all-around crap mood so I can’t decide and I need to decide by tomorrow as I am ordering it from the US and it may take a few weeks to arrive. At this event people will wear anything from a teeny tiny cocktail dress (not my style) to a full blown ball gown (also not my style). I tried to pick out a couple of dresses that I thought were pretty and I would be comfortable in. Comfort is the real key word here. I am a tomboy and would much prefer to hang out in a t-shirt, pair of umbros, and some flip flops. But I guess we all need to get dolled up every once in a while. So, please help me decide which dress to get.

If it boils down to those two, I think the first one looks better.

I’m not much of a shopper; don’t really enjoy it… unless it’s for Tech type things. So I just narrowed it down to two. I will look around here in town, but I will say I haven’t had much luck around here in town where I live in Belgium. I may have to go to Brussels to look, but even then I’m not sure where to look. Thanks for the input so far.

Top one.

Now I need to return to providing fashion advice to the stars.

No Ms. Spears, the shaved look is so in right now…

Disclaimer 1: I’m a guy, with corresponding fashion session
Disclaimer 2:: I used to take sewing classes

The second one gives a nicer form IMO.

If you’re thinking of shopping in Brussels, good places to go for this style would be Avenue Louise, Nieuwstraat, or the Dansaertstraat (which is close to La Bourse and the Ancienne Belgique where I think you went to the concert). And if you carry on down the Dansaertstraat you get into a street where the dresses become even more formal to the point of being wedding dresses :)

I really have no strong feelings on either one… I would Google Audrey Hepburn and go with whatever comes up :)

yeah, that’s a mans advice….

First impression on looks I’d say the second one … seems better suited for the event and not so “grandmaish”, ;) I think it would also be a better fit for your body form. As my girlfriend noted: “it would be flattering on girls with boobs”. :P
