That Song

So I always get nostalgic with that song

Do you remember mixtapes? Even if you’re not old enough to have mixtapes, certainly you had a CD made for you at one time or another. I LOVED making and receiving mixtapes and can remember plenty of them.

You can’t do that so easily now. You can make a playlist, but then you need to decide on 200 songs to fill that playlist. Gone are the days of the 10-15 song playlists…..or are they?

There is a cool new website that probably violates a gazillion countries’ copyright laws called Muxtape.com. It looked really cool and I would love to see others’ lists.

Here is mine.

Up until my last tape deck stopped functioning, I loved making mix tapes. I made tapes for friends, tapes for walking to, tapes for drawing to, and themed tapes of all sorts because I had nothing better to do. And I miss it, too. Burning a mixed CD just isn’t the same, because you just pick the songs, and the computer does all of the work. :(

I enjoyed checking out your list. It was 12 songs I’d never heard before! Thanks for sharing, Sara!

Yeah, I absolutely LOVE mixtapes and I miss making them! Make sure you create your own Sam and link to it!

I still burn CDs with 10 or so songs on them to listen in the car. I don’t always have an mp3 player with me when I’m driving, so I like to have CDs in the glove box. Looks like this site stores the files on Amazon S3, pretty cool.

I finally got around to making one: http://stymie.muxtape.com. I only put 10 songs on it as those are the ones I’m currently interested in.
