I completely forgot to call Vonage back yesterday after my original early morning phone call. I got wrapped up in work or something…blah blah blah. Today I remembered to call, after 9am of course, and was on hold for 45 minutes and finally had to hang up so I could go to a meeting.

I’ve read numerous posts online that Vonage makes it really painful to cancel and it looks like I am going to be lucky enough to experience the pain.
I had Vonage for over two years and was very happy with it; but it is time to cancel. It was extremely beneficial when I lived overseas as it let me call the US and Europe unlimited for $25/month, but I don’t need it anymore.
I called this morning at about 6:30 am EST to try and avoid the long hold wait. I didn’t have to wait and was connected to a lady pretty quickly. I explained that I wanted to cancel the service and she asked why. I explained that I didn’t use it anymore and haven’t used it for several months so it was silly to keep it. She then so generously offered to give me a month for free to continue to enjoy the awesome service. I then reminded her that I didn’t use the service so a free month was really useless to me. She said ok, I need to call back after 9:00 am to cancel.
